2024-25 Week Seven Results
The Chargers earned a hard-fought 14-10 victory over the Thunderbirds that kept fans on the edge of their seats. The Chargers came out strong in the first period, building an early lead with Eric Peterson opening the scoring off a Kevin Konfara assist. Konfara continued to shine with back-to-back goals, while Anthony Nowak and Peterson each added tallies. Despite strong efforts from the Thunderbirds' Tristan Parent, who netted two goals in the frame, and substitute Zeljko Sreckovic, the Chargers held a commanding 6-3 lead heading into the second period.
The second period saw both teams ramp up the intensity. Peterson completed his hat trick early in the period, but Parent and Sreckovic answered back to keep the Thunderbirds within striking distance. Konfara’s offensive dominance continued with two more goals, while Nowak chipped in another off a Peterson setup. The Thunderbirds' Parent responded with a hat trick of his own, showcasing his resilience and determination. Chargers goalie Dean Olivas stood tall, making key saves to preserve his team's advantage despite facing relentless pressure, stopping 22 of 32 shots overall.
In the final period, Brent Severance emerged as a difference-maker, contributing two clutch goals to solidify the Chargers' victory. The Thunderbirds made a late push, with Parent adding two more goals and assists from Alex Ernsberger, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Chargers’ balanced attack. Thunderbirds goalie Andrew Calvin battled hard, stopping 24 of 38 shots in a valiant effort. Brent Severance earned first-star honors for his all-around play, with Kevin Konfara and his six-point night taking the second star. Tristan Parent’s five-goal performance deservedly earned him the third star, highlighting an electrifying game from both sides.
