2024-25 Week Six Results

In an exciting matchup, the Chargers improved their record to 3-1-0 by defeating the Knights 8-5 in a high-paced game. The Chargers opened the scoring with a quick goal from Eric Peterson off an assist from Kevin Konfara, and Peterson soon added another unassisted tally. The Knights responded with Zeljko Sreckovic putting them on the board, but the Chargers kept up the pressure. Konfara and Anthony Nowak each found the back of the net before the period ended, though the Knights managed to stay within reach with a goal from Trei Cools, ending the first period with a 4-3 Chargers lead.

The second period saw the Chargers tighten their grip on the game. Alex Karzon, assisted by Konfara, extended the lead, followed by a hard-earned goal from Brent Severance to give the Chargers a solid 6-3 cushion. Throughout this period, Chargers defenseman Kenny Haran came up big, blocking multiple shots and keeping the Knights from cutting into the lead. The Knights' offense showed some spark, but they were consistently turned away as Haran anchored the Chargers' defensive effort, allowing his team to maintain control.

In the final period, the Chargers and Knights traded goals, with Konfara scoring again for the Chargers, while Jonathan Bowie and Sreckovic added goals for the Knights to narrow the gap. Severance scored the final goal of the game for the Chargers, assisted by Peterson and Dean Olivas, sealing the 8-5 victory. Eric Peterson’s strong performance earned him the game’s first star, with Sreckovic’s three-goal effort securing him the second. Haran’s crucial blocks and near goals in the third period made him the third star, highlighting his all-around contribution to the Chargers' victory.

The Chargers will play their final game of 2024 next week when they meet up with the Thunderbirds.
