2024-25 Week Two Results
In our second game of the season the Chargers outlasted the Knights in a high-scoring affair, securing a 14-10 victory. Kevin Konfara set the tone for the Chargers, scoring just six seconds into the game and adding two more goals in the first period. Brent Severance and Eric Peterson were pivotal in facilitating the offense, with Severance scoring and Peterson assisting on multiple occasions. The Knights responded with goals from Marty Witberg and
Trei Cools, but the Chargers maintained control, leading 6-4 at the end of the first period.
The second period saw the Chargers extend their lead with more offensive firepower. Konfara remained unstoppable, notching several additional goals, while Severance continued to impress with his playmaking. Rookie Alex Karazon joined the scoring party with his first career goal, assisted by Konfara. The Knights, led by Cools and Witberg, fought hard to stay in the game, but the Chargers maintained an 11-7 lead heading into the final period.
In the third period, the Knights attempted a comeback, with Witberg and Sreckovic finding the back of the net. However, Konfara and Severance proved too much to handle as they completed Severance's hat trick, sealing the game for the Chargers. Brent Severance earned first star honors with his first career hat trick, while Trei Cools’ strong effort landed him the second star. Eric Peterson’s playmaking earned him the third star, as the Chargers emerged victorious in an impressive 14-10 win.
The next game will take place between the Thunderbirds and Chargers, each team looking to give the other their first loss on the year.
